Ever wondered why the tuners charge so much cash when the cable is so cheap and the software is free? Reason too many Evo owners not taking the time to join a local club or read up on the basics of tuning. If the software is free then more people should readily give others info on their maps and techniques. But hey i'm just an old DSM guy who believes in friends helping friends. If tuners are just taking leaning it out here and there and adding a little timing which by now is as simple few clicks here and there then why are they charging so much for something that takes a mere minute with all the maps out there. Hell when Todd took the time to break the stock code he didn't have the use of all the modern freeware which anyone who can use a mouse can do. Do the math $200 a flash times several thousand and you see why they all jump on the chance.I predict that when more people start realizing this less greedy tuners will be banking big profits on such little work........

They probably don't want to join a local club because everyone there is an "expert", much as you are coming across.

They want to invest in real tuning experience and sound advice evidenced by many other proof sources and first hand accounts of expertise in the field.

Please do not insult the intelligence of forum members by minimizing the skill necessary to tune an Evolution properly.

There are "skilled vendors" that having been tuning for some time that still cannot scale injectors, program injector deadtime, fix idle issues properly, let alone program WOT. Just think where that leaves those with even less experience such as end users.

The USA is the least expensive market. The UK is still paying $1000+ USD for custom reflashes for this platform.

True...but your talking about extracting every last bit. I agree about custom tunes involving cams upgrades, injectors using a wideband and dyno that takes time and just by the cost. If there are indeed "skillled vendors" that cannot due those things than by all means come to those who can. What I take offense at is those basic 25 whp tunes which take 5 minutes to install and charge so much for.
