hey guys, i got a 03 evo with a mini battery and i had the car sitting in the garage for a few weeks. i had to jump it to get it started but when i start the car it makes a loud grind as if you are trying to start a car thats already running but a lot louder. my car never had this problem before and the past couple of days it keeps on grinding everytime i start it.

i did some searching and besides looking for things that might have fell and got stuck on the starter, what else might be causing the problem?

 

Your mini battery is probably drained from sitting around too long.

Try recharging the battery with a trickle-charger and then try again.

 

i think im having the same problem its sounds like the starter gives an extra go right when the car starts. sounds like the motor is locking up right after start.

any ore help guys?

 

+1 very scary i checked my starter teeth and flywheel and it all looks good maybe the inspection cover or flywheel plate...???
