well guys i just made the jump and bought an evo IX..
dont know where to start on the car but the response of it is great i love the car.
i was looking under the hood and i noticed the guy that had it before upgraded the bov.. i was wondering if that hurts the performance of the car.
i searched on the forums and people say its not good to upgrade the bov. is that true? also, it recirculates.

VTA (Non recirc bov) will hurt the car, but if its recirculated to the intake your a-ok

 

do you know what kind it is? it might be ok. take a pic for us. the IX's have metal BOV stock which holds boost to about 25psi much better than the plastic ones VIII's have which only hold maybe 10-12 before they leak (VIII MR's have metal as well). i don't know why the person before would have changed it if he was running stock turbo and no meth.
