New Owner Impressions
Well, I've had my IX for a little over a month now, and put a little over 1000 miles on it.
The first thing I have to say is...I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!
It's an amazing vehicle, and every time I get in it I can't help but smile. I even find stupid reasons to go to the store or run an errand just so I can drive it...
Some other things I've noticed being a first-time Evo owner:
I've wanted an Evo since 2003 and, all I can say is, it was worth the wait!!!!
Looking forward to hanging out with the evolutionm.net crowd!

It's an amazing vehicle, and every time I get in it I can't help but smile. I even find stupid reasons to go to the store or run an errand just so I can drive it...Some other things I've noticed being a first-time Evo owner:
- The Evo is thirsty...it swills 93 octane like liquor!
- Big brakes and calipers = brake dust everywhere. Makes me wish I'd sprung for the MR's anthracites...
- Many are clueless as to what an Evo is...I still get SUVs and Pickups trying to pull on me at stoplights...But I don't street race so it's all good...I just smile.
- The Evo hates hot days...anything around 90 or above and the car's not happy at all.
- Mitsu must have these things tuned mega-rich from the factory...Every time I wash mine there tons of deposits on and around the exhaust tip...
- You can become mesmerized at stoplights by watching the heat ripples from the hood vent...
- It's too easy to drive like an *** in this thing...I have to keep reminding myself of the line from Spiderman, "With great power comes great responsibility."
- The base stereo option is not so good.
- It's hard to stay out of boost for any length of time, hence #1 above...
- All Evolutions should come with a boost guage, standard. I hate not knowing what the turbo is up to...
- The turning radius is atrocius...but the tight steering makes up for it.
I've wanted an Evo since 2003 and, all I can say is, it was worth the wait!!!!
Looking forward to hanging out with the evolutionm.net crowd!
