I bet your friend with the STI did not leave the car without the entire exhaust. The Subarus would put flames into the firewall and wiring/harness if you remove the downpipe.

I think you are missinformed. At least on the Evo the gases would exit directly facing down the tarmac but on a Subaru it would caught on fire because it faces the firewall.

first off, yes you CAN remove your muffler and it wont sound that bad. it will be louder and you will get more power. buschur racing makes a muffler delete pipe for our cars.... cause its so rice. click here
