Yes...but you can run 24 psi using the stock ECU and BCS and keep the car more stealth, not have to make changes during winter and summer months, retain the over-boost safety feautures, etc...My recommendation would be to get the Jestr flash and have him modify the boost maps....

All you need is the flash / logging cable...Before flashing / tuning your car, you will copy the ECU image, then send it to Jestr, and he will modify (per your mods) and send back to you. The total process generally takes a couple of days depending on his schedule. Then you just reflash your ECU with the new map that Jestr sent. You will retain your base flash on your laptop (you need a laptop) so you can put the car back to stock whenever you want.

You can reach John at http://www.jestrtuning.com/ or jestrtuning@gmail.com

Once you flash your car, you will take a few logs (run the car through the gears) and send the results back to John and he will make any necessary changes to your map and send back to you for a final flash. Your car should gain ~30 - 50 whp from this process and be an entirely different animal.

yes, probrably. i still think an MBC is more consistent than using the stock BCS. and hallman or forge are the only ones i'd reccommend.

To answer the question you actually asked. The hallman MBC is worth it, it only cost 100 bucks and works just fine. I installed it in the winter time, set it to 21, now it is warm and guess what? Still 21 lbs of boost. Easy to install, and it works. I got the pro with the ceramic ball. PM me if you have any other questions.

what do you mean logging it again? You mean when you get your new rom and dl it to you ecu and drive the car around and then resend it back to your tuner for minor adjustments?

Yes...As for ECU / BCS controlling boost -- one can actually control the boost better with the ECU if you know what you are doing. That said, an MBC is much much easier to setup.

Lancershop has the RX kit for 115.

However, that's the kit that has the in-cockpit control. Really, you shouldn't need to be setting your boost often enough for it.

I would suggest the Hallman Pro - it's the same deal, just without the cockpit option.

And I believe its ~$30 cheaper.
