Just test drove a 2006 Evo...am I missing something?
i test drove both cars b4 i bought it AND a WRX...WRX felt like there was no turbo in there and the SRT4 felt like a RSX-S stock..
eventually i ended up owning 2 evo8s and a Stage2+ SRT4. The evo with basic bolt ons will pull the SRT all the way up til about 90-100, then after that, the SRT's top end will kick in.
But stock for stock, theres no way in hell a srt4 will feel faster than a Evo, not even close! when i test drove an srt4 AFTER the evo, i was HIGHLY disappointed at how slow the srt4 was.

No, SRT-4s are not supposed to be a lot slower than Evos. They are very close in terms of power/weight ratio with 03-04 Evos. The IXs should be noticably faster than an SRT-4, but there's not a big gap or anything. The difference in QUICKNESS (0-60 and 1/4-mile) is mainly from the AWD advantage. However, it sounds like this was a busted Evo that left for dead by the previous owner, and now the dealership is trying desperately to get anyone to take it without them knowing what's wrong.
IXs can run 12s stock...if the next one doesn't feel fast to you, then stick with your Ford Tempo. Yes, 03s are a good bit slower than 06 IXs.

This isn't a "fake thread." I've been driving the same ****box Tempo since I got out of college because it was all I could afford at the time with no financial help. I now have a good job and can afford a new car. I'm looking at Evos, and I think the one I test drove yesterday had either a major boost leak or the turbo charger was simply dead period. It was slower than a stock SRT-4. I'm going to test drive a 2003 on tuesday but I'm not really sure what to expect since they're slower than the 06s. I'd test drive another 06 but there's none close to where I live besides the one I drove yesterday.

well like warr said it wont bee too much of a difference but you'll definitely feel one
Well we can rule out the turbo being dead. It would puff smoke out the back. Definitely a leak of some sort though. Although, I will admit that if you're not paying attention and your foot happens to hit the gas... creaping you up to 90mph... you'd not even notice on a completely empty road. They just ride so smooth.
Nothing can be said over what's already been said. Warr is right...the SRT's are comparable, as are the STI's and other sport compacts that are boosted.
Find another one...have you looked in the cars for sale off this website?

jjIf you drive another IX and you still think its slow than maybe just stick with the SRT4 and complain on there site.

Dude.....I suggest that it is not such a smart thing; to come on Any enthusiast's site and say that their particular car is "supposed to feel slow"....you are asking for ridicule and to be labled a .....TROLL.....we all do dumb things from time to time, maybe you should start over with another post or something.....
