The only real rival the EVO has is the STi/STI. The Speed6 is meant to compete with the Legacy GT and even other non AWD vehicles such as the Altima SE-R. Yet despite this the EVO is compared often to many different vehicles, such as the M3, 350Z, and Cayman S and even cars like the Audi RS4. The worst is when people cross shop cars like the EVO with other cars that are completely different than the EVO. Sometimes these people even buy the EVO and soon after sell the EVO and buy something like a VW Golf GLI. Then they complain when the truth is they bought the wrong car and the EVO would never live up to their expectations because the EVO wasn't built to satisfy these expectations. They bought the EVO for all the wrong reasons.

who might you be refering about?
anyone with another fast car hates evos.... just like how many evo owners hate on other cars.... cobra, sti, srt4 are the closest rivals.... they all can be modded for cheap, all in the 20-30k price range and have the same types of drivers...
