how much for a new roof?

on a 2005 gg mr and cost to put it in. I have a body shop telling me that it will cost 3 grand to fix a big dip in the roof because it is aluminum. Also they are telling me that to do bodywork on the mr is twice as expensive to fix because you cant heat up aluminum and the whole body is aluminum. is this right?

Why don't you get the Carbon Fiber roof from AMS.
You'll shave off a few pounds and it'll look hot as shizz.

actually, i don't think they weld it since it's hard to weld aluminum to steel. i believe the roof panel is rivetted onto the car. and no, the evo is not all-aluminum, just the hood and front fenders(roof panel too if it's an MR, RS, or SE).

The carbon fiber roof idea is a good one if you can't find a better price for the aluminium one. The CF roof panel itself is like 1200 and installation would be about another 800-1200 (depending on rates and whether you wanted to have it painted for the stealth look). The entire price beats the $3k estimate.

Good luck.

CF should be painted does Ferrari, Porsche, Z06, Lamborghini, etc etc leave there CF unpainted? The only color that looks decent and I mean decent with CF is WW. Unpainted CF screams boyracer 10x as much as the wing does IMO>

Can you post a picture of the "big dip"? There was really nothing that you know of that explains it? No signs of vandalism? It just appeared...?
