My dad just bought an Evo IX, and I was wondering why he doesn't have the Evo IX rear diffuser bumper?





Besides the bumper question, what do you all think of his new car? I don't see many red Evo's

 

The JDM bumper doesn't come on the USDM 9's

 

it looks like you are in the USA so we don't get that fancy bumper that uk and japan get on their ix's

 

why does ur i/c look all dented up? lol

 

looks hot. and yea usa is gay thats why we have different headlights, taillights, and no rear bumper

 

USA is not 'gay'... the USDM model decided to opt for safty and installed a rear crash brace. That brace sticks further out than the body by about 3-4 inches. Therefore, the JDM spec rear wouldn't fit. You can modify/remove the brace to fit a JDM rear IX and pick one up if you want. I'd recommend Grouppe-S since they seem to have the best price for it shipped.

 

+1. maybe you got it while youre doing a manual carwash.. high pressure of water that you hit the fins fom the side.

 

I didn't even notice that in the pics, I havn't actually seen the car in person yet. I'll ask him about it.

Now I just need to convince him to start modding

Nice Evo IX MR . I have a RR IX MR too and I live in Cape Coral but go to Fort Myers everyday, do you live in fort myers? Also what color is your FD?

 

I live in Orlando during the school year, but I'll be back in FM soon for summer. My fd is red. Here is an older picture of it. I have a new bumper now.

its not dented, its water trapped in the mess screen. almost like a bubble wand effect.

and that car looks amazing with the tints, and wheels.. great scheme right there.

 

a 5mph bumper has nothing to do with safety. its all about incuring less damage in a low speed collision. which is a requirement for USDM cars. that bumper isnt going to do anything in a real crash.

 

damn, that red looks so friggen good. if i wasnt afraid to attract more attention from the cops i would have considered red myself.
