19 PSI Vs. 21 PSI

How much does each pound of boost translate into, speaking in terms of H.P. For example a stock EVO@ 19psi Vs. Stock EVO@ 21 psi....both tunned.

I think the basic rule of thumb is for each PSI is 10hp. But it all depends because 1psi on a huge turbo moves a lot more air then 1psi then a small turbo.

Yea i thought 1 psi would equate into more of a gain in power on a larger turbo.

I have wondered this as well, and was always told 10hp to 1psi on the average.

As you go higher in boost, you'll no longer be gaining as much power per psi.

19 to 21 may be huge..

26 to 28 won't be as much...

Plus you should probably re-tune to get the most out of your increase in boost. See: Different load cells/different timing and AFRs

I recently upped my psi to 21psi and got it tuned. It went from 296whp to 325whp. I might have a leak somewhere or a bad pvc system so it could possibly be more. Ill find out thursday.
