weird engine bogging when at idle...

okay sorry i searched but couldnt find the answer i was looking for. but yesterday when i was driving to work (03 evolution, stock) when i was at a light my car droped from 900 rpm to around 600 and it felt like it was bogging (hope that makes sence?) (almost like a hick up and it was doing it a lot, it seemed to do it when the radiator fan went on) is this normal? i live in las vegas so its really hot, and also my a/c was NOT ON.

Was your air conditioning on? Check your alternator voltage. If the alternator isn't working, the power drawn from the fan coming on would do what your describing.

Sorry, I was kidding about the ac. Anyways, the battery could have enough juice in it to start it but drains when the fan is on. You have any aftermarket stereo equip? I would test the battery and the alternator. They do it for free at advance auto.

if your battery is dying it could have been related to the radiator fan kicking on. Could also be fried cables/coils and fouled plugs... but that seems unlikely.
