The Future of Mitsubishi
The Future of Mitsubishi
Will Mitsubishi survive? A local DC Metro Area dealership (Darcars Mitsubishi) closed their doors for good and another (Rockville Mitsubishi) is now selling Isuzu vehicles along side the EVO's. I bought an VIII at Rockville Mitsubishi in April of 03 and I still have the car. How are other Mitsubishi dealerships doing throughout the US? The EVO is a great car and I would hate to see Mitsu go out of business.
Mitsubishi is in the black again for 07. They are doing very well, but only time will tell. I use to go to the Mitsubishi dealership in Laurel (at the carmax) for my parts, but its now closed. I gets all my stuffs from the rockville mitsu place now, if that place closes I'm going to freak out.
there goal for 08 will be to rip off more people. not cover any warrente work that is a real call for it. and to sell u a car with its best back cars in america claims. o and to rip you off again.....
It's won't be easy for Mitsu to pull out of the US...just like it wouldn't be easy for any of us to pull out of a supermodel. Seriously, they have over 600 dealers across the US and to break that many franchise agreements is nearly impossible. So, it likely won't happen. And, they're doing OK right now. We may see the occasional dealer close because they're losing money, but overall Mitsu will still be here.

read an article the other day here, didnt mention the evo, but talked about mitsu's future, and saying how the 380(i think thats galant for u?) wasnt doing to well, and how the lancer and outlander were holding up the sales
but it also mention that the new 08 series should bring them up alot

Is it really the Mitsu dealerships? Or is it the owners of said dealership who are living too high on the hog? I know a few dealership owners, and they either have a gambling problem, or live outside their means. (GM/Ford dealership owners),not Mitsu owners. Could just be that, and NOT related to sales.
The owners of the former Mitsu dealerships aren't all closing, they are changing car manufactures. Why would some Mitsu dealerships bring other car companies to their lots if Mitsu is doing so well. They're trying to cover all their bases. A Mitsu dealership can't sell enough cars to stay in business.
between the 08 lancers, the new outlander and some interesting plans for the 08 eclipses they should be just fine... plus the galant is going to get a face lift shortly and that should cover all bases and help them plant a firm grip in the marketplace... i work for a mitsu dealer and the regional rep doesnt seem to be concerned at all... but then again he is a salesman and could be feeding us all a bunch of b.s.
who knows... i have faith in the company and i have always been an american car guy, like myself there are many other consumers changing there ideas on the foreign market and looking for good gas mileage and a great warranty...

I use to work for a dealership, and for the most part they were money hungry bastards. If they could sell honda's and nissans under the same roof they would to make more money so it doesnt suprise me other dealerships put evo's next to suzuki's.
