saturday some dumb @ss hitted my rear bumper and took some paint off(in parkinglot!!!!!!!!!!!)

I didnt know who hitted my car but i was looking around my car on saturday and some guy and his buddies told me it was silver hatch aveo. Saw that car today.
Should i go talk to him and get money to fix the paint?
I'm afraid if i do that she(i think its she) or her friends might do something to my car when noones around.

really need help fixing the paint. Need matching paint number or kit that fix apex silver bumper.
paint came off from bolts that holding license plate.

yeah report it. If you are POSTIVE it is the car.

 

a hit and run in my state is a felony. Report it to the cops while being more discrete. If you can prove to them they hit you. You got witness from what your story says. If they do something to you later, make sure you tell that to the cop before hand. Good luck and I hate a**holes that don't respect peoples property. It's like you can't have anything nice anymore. I'll feel your pain and get paranoid about my car when left alone at a parking lot.

 

i need to find that car again and see the front bumper. I'm sure my paint will be stuck on to that license bolt. also going to take pic.

 

Make sure you know it was them...for certain. Then file a police report and let them handle the interrogation. Once you file the police report, then you could contact your insurance company and let them investigate and take care of it.

lol its colorado springs. Stationed in ft carson(was wishing for korea)
not pissed about damage(its not that bad) but pissed about how he ran off when theres 3-4 people saw what he did.

Did police report and he said I should've called for report earlier but i told him its my first accident(no ticket no accident for 26 year old) and I just found out yesterday.

Talked to witness and he pointed out it was that car. Also his buddies saw it happened too.
dumb *** didnt know how to drive stick(its brand new manual still got dealer sticker)Witness told me he didnt know how to drive stick. He rev the engine really high so he stood out in parkinglot. witness and his buddies laugh about it. Then guess what. Driver thought he was in reverse but was in first gear. He ramed my bumper and drove off. Witnesses told me they didnt know he hitted my bumper and yesterday I was looking at my bumper trying to find out who did this crap and thats where i met with witness.

police told me if damage is over 1k(prolly not) I'll have to goto court with witness. But I'm going to ask for atleast 300 bucks to get whole bumper painted again.
God I'm pissed how he just ran off after hitting my bumper.

 

btw when i reported, police didnt even looked at other car. He just wrote down address, phonenumber, and insurance.
Dont know whats going to happen but police told me to call back tomorrow morning to get case number and call him back thursday morning.
My first accident so dont know what i need to do.

 

If the other car is positively the car that hit you, and I'm not doubting you, I'd let the insurance handle everything. What you can do is get a quote from your body shop that will do the repair and repainting and have that information handy if/when requested by the insurance.

We pay a good $ for insurance, their job is to take care of things like this...I hope things work out for you.

I would've lied and said you personally saw the car hit you. If you are absolutely positive. But if you have witnesses that are willing to testify, then you did the right thing. Hope everything gets worked out!

 

The witnesses are key. If no one saw it, then even if you have common dents and paint from the other car you can't get money. I would definitely call the cops and report it to get insurance money.

oh my god. plz help me. I called today talked to officer. guess what he said.

first of all. I told him i thought it was blue car because my bumper had blue marks. But it was blue mark from license plate he had. Also my witness told him what car it was.
Guess what he told me on the phone. He told me that witness told him it was dark blue car!!!!! Witness and I both saw the car right in front before officer arrived!!!!
witness was on CQ for 24hr so he was kinda out. But he told him the description. He knows the car but didnt know the person.
Now police is telling me he will talk to witness again and file faults accusation report on me!!. I'm the one that got hit!
I think he's trying to get me because I'm asian and drive sports car. I do not know anybody here (only my team) I got here 1 1/2 week ago(new army base) and he thinks i'm making all up.
anyway i was in parkinglot and found another witness. He told me there were 4 of them(including my other witness) and he 100% sure what car and what driver looks like.
I just left message to officer to call witness.

it was he! witness2 told me after hitting my car, he got out and checked out and took off. Took him few mins to figure out how to put it on reverse.
witness2 knows description of the man. Witness told me its easy to spot him due to big purple birthmark(or scar) on right eye.

Wow in welcome center, i was told police officers here hates military personels. But didnt know like this bad. I was threated by his "false accusation report" and I'm thinking about dropping the case.

No ticket, no accident in my whole life and damn thing happened when i'm only few months away from deploying and in new base.
