Painting CF

I figured I'd post this in the noob section cause it's prob common knowledge. I just couldn't find it via search.

I have one CF piece on my car, the grill. I was thinking about painting it black to match the rest of my paint. Is there any special approach? Do I sand the CF? Also, are there any special tricks to giving my paint a good depth that will blend with the rest of my car because my past paint jobs have turned out very flat, even with color matched paint and a good clear coat? Should I just take a $$hit and get it done professionally if I expect it to turn out to match the rest of my paint?

Thanks for any help

You just sand the clear a bit to let the primer stick. and allways use primer before you paint.

thers clear on top of the carbon,if you look at your hood and it looks wavey youll have to scuff the hood and put sealer/primer down and then gide coat (is just a mist of black on the sealer/primer that shows you your high and low spots)and sand the hood flat, you will also have to bland and clear the fenders to match the hood any good shop will tell you so...
