Tomorrow is the day!
Tomorrow, if GOD willing, I will be getting my 06 Evolution. It will be brand new, but the only downfall is that I have to drive it back ~450 miles. I know break in is vary RPM range, and do not go passed 5000 RPM. But I know also its not good to drive a new car for a long period of time. So what do you guys suggest as in how long each drive interval should be and how would I vary the RPM's on a long drive?
And what should I check before I leave the dealership other than tire pressure? Thank you guys in advance!

I drove mine for 250 miles back with 3 miles on ODO.
I just made sure I don't keep my car on the same RPM, vary the rpm when your cruising. I was a bit careful with brakes as well.
If the ODO is less then 5miles, I think there isn't too much to worry about. When I got mine, the inspection paper(from the dock) was still in my glove compartment
Gooc luck, enjoy the car

If you're picking it up from the dealership....You should be fine...But..I would check the fluids...Oil Level, Brake Fluid, Power Steering Fluid, windshield washer fluid (I know but just check anyways) and of course the coolant level....all before you go on the trip....make sure they give you your Evo with a FULL TANK OF GAS!! .... Just give it a good once over for any scratches, dents, or other defects that you might have missed when first checking the car out... Just my advise! Have a blast driving it back! You will of course baby it but enjoy the fact that you're driving your very own Evo!!!
Thanks for the advice guys! Really helpful!
So does that mean that varying the RPM's in the final gear is the same as varying the RPM's in all the gears? What is the recomendation on that? I mean, if there isnt a rule already
