progressive spring ?

this is a general question about progressively wound springs. my friend put some on his tsx this weekend and when i came in to work he asked me when installing the springs does end with the closer coiled springs go at the top or the bottom. on many applications it will only go in one way as the top and bottom are different sizes but not the case with the tsx rears. all of the pictures i've seen put the closer spaced coils at the top. is this correct, is it the opposite, or does it not matter?

logically i dont see why it matters but i think its better to tell your tsx friend to call the vendor rather then ask on evom
