Just bought an evo.. what should I add to it?

What's up everybody, I just bought a 2005 Evo Vlll about 4 days ago for a little b-day presant to myself. I Fing love it, but it's all stock and I want to add some mods to it. What are the first things you would add on if you were me?

I was thinking that I want to get stuff to add some HP, but maybe I should get somthing like a turbo timer, or a blow off valve..

Also is it important to buy the top of the line, known brands, or can I buy things that are around mid-price range?

1) mod the driver... It's a very quick car with an insane ability to turn.

then decide what you want to do with the car. Autox? drag racing? track days? each type of performance driving has different requirements and setups.

When I bought my evo, I first upgraded the suspension, exhaust, brakes, then started with the HP mods. I targeted my mods towards autocrossing, which is what I bought the EVO for in the first place.

enjoy the car!

Take your time, and don't be in a big rush to start modifying the car. The EVO isn't exactly slow in the stock form. Learn how to drive the car, and how to identify it's limits.

When the time comes, the first mods should be: A turbo-back exhaust, a manual boost controler and a mail in flash or custom tune.

The search function is your friend, search any of those modifications and you'll find a ton of great information.

Also, this will more than likely be moved to the Newbie/FAQ section, try and post in the appropriate forum.

Good luck, and congratulations on the EVO.

Thanks, I definitely will. I like how the handling feels so far, so I'm wondering what are the first steps to get the car a little quicker- particularly before the turbo kicks in.
I dont really have too much money to spend on it also right now, so what would be the cheaper mods to put on first that would help the most?

That's also how people respond when you ask these questions in the wrong forum

Seriously. If you want a good, cheap first mod that makes good power, get a $85 MBC. Make sure you have a boost gauge to go with it.

If I started all over agian I would do this. To be honest this is the best way to make the most power out of an EVO with 100% safely in mind

I know some of you cats think Warr can be a tool. Fact is you just cant argue that this is on hell of a package dealhttps://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...08&postcount=1

Get a MBC and a catback exhaust to start. That will be okay to drive untuned until you have money for the complete exhaust, intake, cams, etc.

Go with a company's stages like AMS's or BR, but the real question is what do you want to do with the car?
