Hey all, I tried searching but couldn't find anything that matched what is happening on my car. I have and '03 VIII with HKS cat-back, Megan 3" DP, HKS 272 cams, Hallman MBC, Walbro fuel pump, upgraded injectors (don't know what size currently...they were on the car when I bought it in march), and Greddy Type RS BOV (recirculating not VTA). I also understand the original owner had the car tuned, but don't have any information on it as the guy hasn't gotten me the information which has been a pain the *** (but that's a whole different story). Anyways, a couple of days ago, I noticed that in 2nd-5th gears, at 1/4 up to full throttle, once I hit about 12 pounds of boost, the boost rockets up to 21-22 pounds (which is where it should be given the setting I have on the MBC) and the RPM's rocket up by as much as 2500 rpm's, but it isn't smooth. Both the boost and rpm's fly up the gauges and there is no noticeable increase in speed or power when this happens (best description would be almost like if you rev the car when it is out of gear....although the turbo is spooling in this situation whereas it wouldn't spool at idle). In addition, I noticed after commuting home yesterday that there was a faint smell....very faint smell almost like the smell of burnt clutch. Any ideas? Could the clutch be only partially engaged when the clutch pedal is not depressed? Regardless, I'm not driving the car until I can have it checked out....just don't know what it could be and any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

 

Sorry, I forgot to mention that it also has an ACT clutch. This is very strange and again, any help at all would be appreciated. Car has ran great up until now.
