problem with GF210 springs
problem with GF210 springs
So i just installed Tanabe GF210 lowering springs on my 05 EVO MR
The problem i am having is after i installed them CORRECTLY and made sure everybolt was snug i drove the car and noticed that there was a lot of clunk in the front end when i turned the steering wheel.
We figured out that its because the top 3 coals on the spring are compleatly compressed and the 4th coal is compleatly extended. This is causing the top 3 to rub and make the CLUNKING sound when the coals roll over eachother.
Anyone ever have this problem and does anyone have any ideas on what i should do!?!?!?
PS on the spring you should install the spring with the writing faced up like you would normaly read on the spring right? other wise the writing on the spring would be upside down.
Also i know theres a front and back springs of course but theres no such thing as a right and left is therE?

You may have the coil bound up on the strut from improper placement.
Check that the strut hat is installed correctly. Look for the indentions where the spring sits into the right spot on both ends.
It helps to use a compressor for the installation as well.

and chances are you didnt align the strut properly....
