Former STi owner.

Hey guys, I'm new here. I sold my Modded '06 STi last year and miss it a lot, it was by far my favorite car that I've owned. Currently I'm driving a '93 R32 Skyline GTSt.

Anyway, I'm thinking about crossing over to the darkside and buying a Evo X . I haven't been to the dealer yet, but have any of you been put on a reserve list for the fisrt batch? Also i've been seeing a ton of pictures of prototypes, are their any pics out of what it will actually look like, I'm also intersted in the specs. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I had R32 GTS-t in Japan. It was a great car. I loved the sound of straight six engine. It was easy to drift, too! You cannot compare RWD and AWD. They are differen. I like driving RWD better, but AWD has alot more traction and often time faster.

Whats a joke? The RB20DET is a good engine, but when you've got a heavier chassis than the S13/S14 240's and the motor is heavier and produces less power than the SR20DET (sorry... Former nissan guy). BTW im not putting down your car. I love skylines of all forms and have driven a GTS-t and a R32 GT-R. As that said you cant compare AWD to RWD. RWD's are alot more fun... Nothing like alot of oversteer! Come to the dark side though! I love my Evo and wouldnt give it up for the world... Unless it was a GT-R

I have my AWD, but haven't given up my RWD. I just can't. RB20DET may produces less power than SR20DET, but it is silky smooth. I owned S15 Silvia and R32, and can tell you that the two engines' characteristics were totally different. If all you are looking for is power, then I guess SR would be better. But RB's smoothness is something I can never forget.

As for body goes, S14 was way too big to my taste. R32 GTS-t had smaller, tossable body. If you've drifted in both, then I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

I drifted my S14, but didnt drift the GTS-t as it wasnt my car . I agree the RB20 is a silky smooth motor and i love the way it sounds. My only experience with a drifting RB20 is in a S13 hatch that was a friend and i just rode in it. I got to do donuts in the R32 GT-R though

You really can't compare a 2006 AWD 400 whp STi to a 15 year old Skyline, they're two different animals. As far as performance, the STi beats out the GTS-t by a long shot. It is pretty damn fun driving around a RHD skyline though, I get so much attention from random people...it actually gets really anoying.

I do have a possible sale pending on the Skyline. The last two sales fell through, so I'm keeping my options open. First person with $16k takes it...US titled, inspected, and full insurance.

Pics are here: http://www.vtrides.com/view_ride.php?id=234&h=f

Car has 97,000 Kilometers, motor has 32,000 Kilometers. Replaced old rubber powersteering, and fuel lines, added poly tie rod bushings, and installed a new alternator.

Other than that I haven't had any issues with the car. Body has some small dents and scratches caused by poor shipping from Japan. minor wear marks on the interior.
