Going to pick my new evo IX Monday

Well Finally got my GTI sold, and found an evo I wanted near by. I'm flying in Monday morning to Don Herring in Irving and getting an 06 evo SE in silver. Already gave them a deposit. My 1st stop is going to be alamo autosports. I called em today, and they don't have too many parts in the shelf, but I don't have a problem with what they have. DC sport cat delete down pipe, HKS hi power cat back. They have an HKS suction intake, but I have read some not so good things on here about it. I don't want to take any chances, and also I don't know if I'll have enough time or money to get it tuned while I'm there. I really just want a drop in filter. Also going to get a defi blue racer boost gauge, and just using my hallman pro MBC out of my GSX. I guess I really should make sure I have the money and get a tune. I just chose alamo cause several evo guys here when there to get tuned by mark from turbo trix.

Now I just have to catch up with some of the 8s in town. one has bolt-ons, cams tune and meth, another has a 35r kit, and another has a 2.4l with a 37r.

It doesn't seem like you want to waste any time before modifying the car. I'd keep it stock for at least a few months. Get a feel for the car and how it handles, before you go apesh*t with modifications.

I just hope I can fit those parts in my car!!! If I have to take them out of the boxes, and buy some cheap blankets from walmart to wrap them up, I will. haha

Congrats on your purchase, you should give KevinD a PM since he's the go to guy around here for tuning and installation of any mod. He knows what he's doing and the price is very reasonable.

Is the car brand new?! You should at least wait till it's broken in IMHO.

Yeah, it's brand new, and I think Kevein was the name my buddy used when he said something about getting a street tune at a VERY good price in the Dallas area.

I'd at least break the car in and learn how to drive it. If you start modding it early, then if something happens you are out on a long warranty my friend. Remember you're paying for a warranted car. I drove if for more than a year, in the snow, rain, etc. and learned the limits.

well, warranty shouldn't be too much of a problem. I'm a mistu tech. Also I'll drive it stock from dallas to lubbock(haha), then towards the end of tuesday, it's going on my lift. I just can't wait to compare my 9 to my buddies 8. I will have cams, tbe, filter, fuel pump, MBC and tune. He has intake, tbe, gsc 280 cams, upper and lower ic pipe, aftermarket IC, meth and tune.

cams, fuel pump and tune will be later this month. then I want to leave it alone for a little while. maybe do a few little appearance things. I like the european rear badge. I also have 2 evo 8 spoilers, I'd liek to have a full carbon fiber one on my car.

I'v been talking on thw phone with Alamo(Kenny). seems cool. I can't wait to go pick up some things from them.
