Be prepared to have an empty wallet

Welcome to the boards and good luck with the conversion. Go easy on the caps lock.

OK....FOOL FIRST DATS BOGUS I AM A NEWBIE...AND A MIRAGE WAS AROUND 15K.... AND A EVO OF COURSE WILL BE AT LEAST DOUBLE THAT...I ALSO BOUGHT THE CAR WITH THE INTENTION OF CONVERTING IT INTO A EVO VI B/C ALTHOUGH THE NEW EVO 7 IS TIGHT I THINK THE OLDER EVO IS THE BETTER LOOKING EVO...AND BEFORE YOU START CALLING ANYONE A FOOL MAYBE YOU SHOULD LOOK AT THE SITE AND SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE BOUGHT A NEW 2002 LANCER OR HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE A MIRAGE CONVERSION....

Yes. There are body kits. It's his car and a few people have done successful conversions with apparently decent results. Let him have his fun.

I am wondering what is your estimates of the total parts/labor that you are going/willing to pay for the conversion.

I love to see it when it is done.

A GOOD person to ask would be 'japspec4g63'. He has a 97 mirage conversion.

Check it.

I got a buddy who converted a standard Lancer to an Evo 3. He's put an Evo 3 motor in it + 4WD drive system etc from an Evo 3. Installing a EVO drive-train into a normal car is a risky business. One bolt goes off the rear disc brake system and you are in for major trouble. Also we are speaking speeds above 100kmph within a 5 second range. Conversions can be done. However they are expensive and not that safe!.
