A few cons after 500 miles on the IX

I miss cruise control.
That spoiler is RIGHT in the line of vision through the rearview mirror.
the HIDs suck a little on a dark, unlit highway at night.

The pros are endless, those were just some things I noticed so far.

I got MUCH better gas milage than expected on the drive back from dallas. I got 36 MPG on the highway.

Sounds like you bought the wrong car.

I disagree about the wing. I love how it blocks all the headlights in my rear view.

It's not that often AT ALL that I'll be on an unlit highway at night. I just noticed it driving back from Dallas(I kept trying to set the cruiseon this drive, ha) where I got it. And I feel this way only because there is a deffined line where the beam stops way out there. With non projectors, it fades so you can see alittle further.

I don't know how this would affect my MPG, or if it would, but it was flashed for having TBE, filter, and MBC at 23psi. KevinD just used a flash from another IX with the same mods. and I hade none of that done yet. It was all in the back of the car.

I absolutly LOVE this car.

I personally love right where the wing is at.

Usually where people cruise right behind me...their headlights are blocked off by the wing from hitting my eyes, but I can still see exactly where the car is at judging by the light on the road.

I think there is a how to on adjusting the hid's. They do shoot alittle low from the factory. Basically, you set it at the highest position in the car while the lights are shining against a garage door or what not. Mark where the top of the beam hits the wall. Then pop the hood and rotate the switch to the 2nd position. And adjust the beam with the screws on the housing to match your tape. Walla, you can see.

Yeah, the lights from the factory are set too low. They are afraid you will turn them up and blind somebody. I'm surprised they trust us to drive the car.

Once set higher you can turn them down for around town and up a click for high speed driving and still have them down on the road enough that nobody is bothered. Then you will have great lights.

As for the cruise, get one installed. I use mine all of the time.

The only thing i dont like about the wing being in the way is how, during the day, you can't see when highway patrol is trying to pull you over...

36!?!? My civic didnt even get that much per gallon!!
I drive 60 mph on the freeway in the evo and still cant get more that 19-20 mpg...i might be wrong though cause i havent checked in a while..

I know. I almost can't believe it myself. I have gone over how I calculated it so many times, to make sure I did it right. I still may have done somethign wrong, cause that is awfully high. My GTI 1.8t got 36 on the highway drving back from Houston, I didn't think the evo would.

I probably will adjust the HIDs.

You guys don't have HID adjustment knob on the dash? Or do I just have one inside because I have an MR/SE?

Yeah, you probably have to adjust them if you don't think they are bright enough. My headlights are tinted and they are still plenty bright LOL...
