n00b from Columbus, Ohio. Scion tC pix inside.
Hiya. Name's Blake.
I'm 26, I live in Ohio. Currently driving an 07 Scion tC in BSP.
I'm a professional computer geek working full time for a bank, and run a small home business producing vinyl graphics and/or decals.
Eyeballing the IX, I learned of the X's impending release, so I'm holding out for a test drive before I commit either way.
I promise to be a good nube, to not start or perpetuate STi vs EVO threads, or pretend that stickied posts aren't there.
That about covers the intro crap, on to the car pix and specs:

07 Scion tC
Black Sand Pearl
1-off DIY Eyelids, 1-off DIY Tail wraps
Tein H-tech
ASA JH-8 17x7.5
Yokohama Parada SpecII 205/45
Weapon-R / Monster Motorworks 4-2-1
Injen SES Axleback
Injen SP CAI
I also promise not to ***** up the forum with advertisement for vinyl beyond this: If you need somethin', that's what PMs are for.
I'm also a big audio-nerd, so almost all my clientele are mobile audio manufacturers. Some notables, and brands I endorse:
Corporate trade references:

Personal trade references can be found on these forums:

Thanks for havin' me and my little profile here. I'll probably troll the audio/interior area until I get my hands on something evol.

Thank you
I should note that the Tein sticker was gone hours after it appeared. The wheels are back to stock now, also. Exhaust too.
I had to see what kinda materials the Chinese are using. For what it's worth -- cheap is the answer.

Nice tC and welcome. I'll keep ya in mind for the graphics thing, I think one of my boys may need some. Two quick tips for ya. First I know you'll be searching before you start up a thread but I just wanted to let you know that it really helps to Click "Advanced Search" and change your drop down menu to Threads instead of the default which is "Posts" cause you could spend forever looking for something. Maybe I'm a little slow but it took me awhile to figure that one out. As for the second tip if you're already strongly leaning towards the IX a company called Orbital Engineering I believe has a double din kit for it, just figured I mentioned it since you like audio. Gotta be quick though because they're stopping their production run soon. I think I'm order #168 and I have to wait 4 weeks to get it. Good luck with everything.
Welcome to the boards. Scion tCs are cool, yours is nice, though I'm not particularly a huge fan of what you did to your taillights, though they really do look clean and it was done very carefully.
Good luck with your quest for an Evo. Obviously you can't go wrong with a IX, ESPECIALLY if you are into modding, whereas most assumptions regarding the new x are that modding will be somewhat restricted when going into higher numbers due to the aluminum block, though we won't actually know until it comes out and tuners get their hands on them. Either way, it's going to be an aweomse car. IX or X, it's just an amazing car.

Thanks for the welcome
With the tC and the G6 and whichever Honda has the same tails, I had to do something unique. It's one of those love it or hate it things, I think.
The IX certainly hasn't been ruled out, but the newer block being slow to gain aftermarket support probably won't sway me from picking one of the tens up either if everything's in order.
I went and checked out the 08 Lancers today, and was a little disappointed; The dash is like a tremendous flat wakeboard, and it protrudes into the center of the car - felt pretty invasive to me. Then again, I'm six foot six. The interior cloth seemed super cheap, maybe even easily damaged.. Do you IX and VIII guys have problems with the interiors?
Seems like there's already an IX out there any which way you want to imagine, and I enjoy something just a little unique, even if it's only a detail or two.

No problems with the materials used in the interior, but a couple of things you might notice about driving a IX are that the road noise is a bit greater than most cars, and that the suspension is stiff (in a good way) and you'll feel every bump, nook and cranny of the road (not a soft ride, but one that gives you excellent feedback). The steering response is very tight too. It's a driver's car. It talks to you, if you'll only listen LOL.
Thanks for the info
The tC gives pretty good feedback (it's lowered) so I'm fine with that -- people have a different definitions of 'ride quality' -- what you've described sounds like my brand.

^ About the ride, it's not nearly a harsh as some people make it out to be. "Comfortable" definitely doesn't come to mind, but it's never bothered me. Also, a couple days ago, I drove both of my parents (both well into their 50s, both driving comfortable Benzes) on a 100+ mile round trip, not a single complaint about the ride, though my dad did mention something about the crappy turning radius.
You know, I really couldn't tell you off the top of my head. Usually just to play it safe, especially if the lane I'm U-turning into isn't a huge three-lane street, I start off as far right in the left-turn lane as possible, then I delay the U-turn until I'm a bit into the street, so even if I turn too wide, I can still clear the curb since I further into the intersection, that usually works out fine. Obviously it sucks when pulling into tighter spaces in parking lots, but it's not a huge deal to have to fix your parking job. Parallel parking is usually even more fun :P
Well my little U-turn routine is something that I usually do if it's a one-laner. Two lanes, I'll probably be fine just doing a normal U-turn, though I usually play it safe because I don't want to curb any of my wheels.
