Greetings from Chicago area

Greetings all~
Just joined the other day after searching through the threads for mod info for my 02 OZ. I am impressed with the wealth of information here, but must admit that I'm a little disappointed that so many people seem to think the non-EVO Lancer is essentially a waste of time.
I picked mine up used for very little, and the guy who had owned it previously had put a moderate amount of time and money into it: It has the Kamikaze 4-to-1 with full 2.25 exhaust back to what appears to be a generic rice-can. Full Injen CAI and appears to have a chipped ECU. Haven't gotten a good look at the suspension, but it is definitely lowered slightly, has 17"s fairly low profile cheapo tires, and powdercoated front and rear strut bars. I suspect it may have a cam mod, but I haven't been that deep into the engine yet (it idles a bit rough). At any rate, I have got to say that I am fairly impressed with this things agility and speed, considering it's off the shelf stats. My previous ride was an 87 MKIII Supra that my wife and I custom built to roughly 250 hp at the wheels NA (doesn't sound like much, but for an NA Supra that was not bored oversize it was..), so the differences are glaringly obvious....but going into the purchase knowing this was not even close to the Supra I have to say I am still pretty impressed. We also have a gen1 MR2, and I'd say the handling on the OZ is on par at this point.
At any rate, I have modest plans for the OZ at this point...no big engine swaps or anything. I plan to refine what is there to make the most out of it, but who knows. For now, just getting used to the gearing and fixing the general settings. Glad to meet everyone.
