what problems to look for in used evo8
what problems to look for in used evo8
Hi, I've finally made the decision to buy a evo viii for my new daily driver when I get back from Iraq. I don't want to have to drive my soon be blown mustang through another snowy MN winter. I was a nissan technician before I joined the army and would look over the wrx's we'd get on trade... so i guess thats where I fell in love with turbo AWD's. Hmmm... lets see, I'm an infantryman stationed out of Ft Hood, TX. I've been in Baghdad for 11 months now with 4 mor until I'm back in TX and will be a civilian again a few months after getting back to the states.
I do have a question, I tried searching first, but the internet sucks out here so sorry if its been posted.
What should I look for when buying a used evo viii, mechanically, int/ext, etc?
Ive been away from the tech field for 3 yrs now and never have owned or dealt with but a few turbo cars first hand in the past since school.
I appreciate any help!

If you can find an unmolested Evo that would be your best bet. Meaning no mods more than likely it wasn't beat on as hard as one with mods!! Good luck and stay safe, I just got back from a stint with Blackwater after my enlistment was done. I'm sure your anxious to be back again good luck!!

As far as mods, I was reluctant to buy an Evo with mods but if there's light and well done. I don't see any problem. Make sure everything is recorded (not obvious if you don't know what's an MBC for instance)
