from what I hear, if you are into drag racing then go with a 5 speed. if you are into circuit and autocross then go with the 6 speed.

i know my 6 speed in the eclipse murders me in the 1320....

The reason I ask this is because back in Asia, there is some difference in HP between MR and non-MR.

I need a few more answers from others, thank you.

in the US all evos(in same class, evo 9s) have same HP 286. The mr has a zero lift kit and six speed tranny and some gauges. If u like dragracing get a gsr or rs, if u like autoxs or time attack etc get the MR.

you don't have to buy the car in Seattle just because you live there, I bought my MR at Appleway Mitsu in Spokane, and they even payed for my ticket to fly there and go pick it up. Also, if you are a Costco member, you can tell them what car you want and at what price, and they will find it for you (searching nationwide).

Your loss. I got good deal at Mountain. i was Fighting for Great Deal with Sale manager/ owner.. and All Brand new Evo had 5 to 20 miles beacsue of Service Inspections and safety check.. it require.. u cant find a evo with 0 miles...

Mountain have good Works parts and best Services.

but got to fight to get great Deal to own Evo.. all stealership is overprice MSRP or Northwest Adjustment price.. most NW Adj is 6 grand.. so u go for Invoice or MSRP and fight it and print paper u find great price deal and show them that what u wanted

There is no more stock for evo in Mountain.

Yes it's your gain.

Yeah, I'm kinda in the same boat. I'm up here in Sea-Tac looking for an evo as well. It's going to be a couple months before I'll be able to buy so I'm doing my homework now.

Is there any gas mileage difference between the MR 6-spd and the 5-spd?

i agree with voidhawk, i bought my new 9 mr in Minneapoils. Since i go to school in grand forks, ND about 270 miles away, the dealership was nice enough to pay $50 for my gas to drive down there with my gf, they paid for a full tank of gas back(total 2 tanks), a night at a hotel and dinner for 2. Im sure it was somehow included in the price i paid, but the deal was too good.

Look around, if u buy far away, by the time u get back u will have the breakin done on the interstate

Some dealers are good and some are not. I guess you guys were the lucky ones to find good dealers for good evo deal.

I'm in the same boat as you Kren. I got a loan, just waiting on a ww evo. I have a track on a few in different states, I'm waiting to see what's going on. I can have a plane ticket booked asap to go get one and drive it back, but people are screwing around with me.
How big of a difference is the 8 to the evo 9 really? Is mivec all that worth it? I like the 9 interior a lot better, but a nice 8 with the ssl is still appealing.

It's hard when a lot of these guys want more than what the damn thing is worth. It's unfortunate that a lot of people expect to make money on their aftermarket parts, when most people know when buying them in the first placethat you can't make money off them.
rule 56
you never get out of it what you put into it!

I'm still skeptical of the mr tranny though, especially a used one with a lot of mods.

You're just learning a standard and you will be jumping into an Evo? I guess I could be making assumption jumps since you also clarified with "...and a good income..."

Best of luck!

Hahaha guess my post was very vague. I'm driving a manual Civic so I'm practicing and I only have a part-time job.
