Come springtime i'm going to be buying an evo. I can't decide whether i should get and 8 or a 9. It's going to be my summer daily driver and eventually I will want t obreak into the 11's with it. wondering what peoples opinion are. What are the differences between the two besides the bumpers and fact that the 9 has the mivec motor. thanks

 

they are both a good choice man. just look for a clean carfax and make sure it has no problems

ive had both... and the ix is way better as far as reaction to mods.....

 

Agreed with above. Both are great cars and respond well to mods. The IX just responds better.

 

The 9 and the mivec is great.

 

The VIII is cams away from the IX.

If you don't plan on doing cams then get a IX.

Either an 05 VIII or a IX.

 

Im definitely getting an mr so it will be an 05 or 06. So far it seems like the 9 is the way to go. Besides for the motor and bumpers, are there any other differences?
