Launching Clucth Burnt Help

Ok so I tried to launch my evo using the 2 step and I slip the clutch but it did not grab and by the time I was done I was in third and only going like 40mph so I stop and smelt clutch pretty bad, It drives fine afterwards but now I am scared to launch it how bad is to bad to launch? Its been a few days and I kind of smell clutch after driving, car still pulls and not sliping in higher rpms

So, you burned the clutcch through 3 gears and the car drives fine now? Did you slip the clutch through all 3 gears?

Ok, when you launch the car you only slip the clutch till the car starts moving then it needs to be fully engaged and not slipping. If it continues to slip after you release the clutch pedal then you need a new clutch because it's not holding.

It's common to over-slip the clutch on a launch. You probably took some life off of it, but it should be fine. Just don't make it a habbit.

the basic rule of launching an Evo is, if you smell clutch you're moving too slow. Once the the slack is out of the drivetrain you have to move quickly to keep up with what the car wants to do.

Ok, I was thinking that you got it slipping in 1st and just kept flooring it all through first second and into 3rd before you realized the clutch was slipping and you were not moving nor were your tires.
