16 year olds with evo's is ****ing stupid especially if u know nothing about them. do urself a favor and just buy a 1st gen GSX therefore u can smack it into tree's and improperly install mods. Lets be realistic u dont even know what a MBC is

get something else, i knew a kid that went to my h.s in junior year, his parents bought him a evo, then got his parking pass taken away, and then he hit a pole 2 weeks after he got it!
real nice welcoming..... There was a point where you didnt know what a mbc stood for..
back on topic...
I suggest you do a lot of research before purchasing... Its going to cost you an addition 3-5k a year just to keep the car on the road... maintnence is very expensive.
There is lots to do, and lots that can go wrong. The evo is a costly and time consuming hobby, not an A to B car.
Cheers!

MBC is a manual boost controller. There are 2 reccommended Brands. Forge and Hallman. The other option is an EBC (electric boost controller) but that gets complicated and the manual type is generally regarded as morereliable. They let you turn up the PSI (boost) from an adjustable knob usually placed somewhere in the engine bay. Hallmans can be used from in the cabin. As for getting an MR, I would suggest a 5 speed which is usually less problematic, and you can have it rebuilt by Shep if you want it to be even stronger. 6 speeds (MRs) are harder to get modified, some companies won't even touch them, and they more are prone to breaking under alot of abuse than the 5 speeds are. The best bet would be an evo IX either SE or standard (GSR) trim. If you get one, please buckle up and drive safely. Respect your evo and learn its limits slowly. These cars are a handfull.
