Smoke by front wheels?

I got home today, it was raining out, and there was smoke coming from my front tires. I felt around, nothing was hot in that area (not even the disc or axle or anything). I opened the hood up, nothing in there was too hot beside for the turbo, headers, and that cover thing (but they were not producing smoke). My tires are essentially bald and my alignment might not be perfect. My question is, could the tire itself actually be smoking? (Even though it felt cold to the touch).

That is what I thought too, but there was no smoke to speak of coming out of the engine bay. It does appear more like steam than smoke though.

Rubber, lol. Which is why I was going with tires. Just wasn't sure if it was possible for a tire to smoke after the car had been off for a few minutes.

Make sure nothing is stuck in your brake too. One of my friend was off-roading his truck and didn't wash it afterwards. Some pebbles got stuck between rotor and caliper. It caused smoking, but then it also made a lot of grinding and screeching sound. The idiot kept driving at that state and eventually bent the rotor.
