hows it going everyone, so i found my self in a spot i didnt think i would be in, looking for a evo to purchase. being all about subaru ,owning a fairly modified 07 wrx, and a both sr20det's s13's and s14's. but i recently my transmission blew up in the wrx, and of course factory waranty did not want anything to with 7 month old wrx with only 7k on the odometer. so dropped that picked up another s14, sr'd it, loved it, but i just miss awd. so here i find my self in the market for a evo!


so here is my questions... of course, i searhed, but ya know, every one has there opinions...

first off what are some of the important things i should look at on a used evo? the first thing that comes to mind would be tranny issues. so how are these 5spd tranny's?reliable?

thats my main concern, but let me know all your thoughts!

The 5 and the 6 speed trannies are fine as long as you dont just abuse the hell out of them. The 5 speed tends to be stronger then the 6 speed. but as long as you arnt making like 500whp and power shifting it you should be fine. I had an 04 wrx before my evo and you cant even compare those 2 cars as far as how mcuh abuse they can handle the evo is much better all around period.
