well im in the market for an all wheel drive power house(EVO or STi)

and what i was considering an 05 STi or an EVO(8or9).

i know posting here, you guys are kinda biased on the EVO side ... so my question about the EVO is, which one? my plans would be full exhaust (carbon ti, dp, etc etc.), gt35r, and all components that go along with it to make it run well. i was told that i should consider the 9 due to mivec, and i was wondering that does mivec really make that much of a difference when u add parts. as i was reading in here, that the tranny in the MR isnt suited to handle more HP compared to the 5sp tranny.

The Evo vs STi has been discussed approximately 700,000 times on this forum. The Evo is (trivially) faster and has more potential, the STi is a better overall package. Pick your poison.

A quick search will answer your questions about MIVEC, necessary upgrades to maximize the GT35R's potential, and the relative differences between between the 5 and 6 speed.

 

^Exactly, it boils down to personal preference. If you ask evo owners which they prefer, it'll obviously be evos, if you ask STI owners which they prefer, it'll obviously be the STI. I would suggest you drive both and then decide for yourself since you're the one that has to live with it.
