helllo everyone

i've been reading these forums for a while and you guys finally convinced me to eventually get an evo for myself.. i'll be going to college next year and hopefully pick up an evo off this site near the end of my freshmen year.

i'm currently driving a SUV because apparently, my parents decided that SUVs are safer for people like me i know they wouldn't approve of me selling their car to buy the evo so i'll be on my own.

anyway, a few questions if you guys dont mind

1. how much would you recommend that i down pay (let's say the car is $20k) and hwo much should i borrow? i'm afraid that if i down pay all that i can afford, and something happens later on, i might miss a few payments and that wouldn't look good on my credit report.

2. does anyone know how strict New York state laws are concerning emissions (if i were to throw in a nice turbo and whatnot) and noise pollution (big turbo and loud exhaust = bad? )

3. where can i learn about tuning and cars in general x.x i feel like a noob compared to everyone here

Search is your best friend, you could probably answer all of those questions with a few mins of research.

This is a great place to learn about cars in general, just use that search button, i know i used it the first 2 weeks like 50x a day, (no joke) and i found everything.
