Console Disassembly

Okay, I need to get my armrest and shifter console out. However I have ran into an issue. I searched the forum, (found 3 how-to's here so please do not post me a link to those and call me a newb). Those threads are great, but I cannot get the console off. I removed the screws in the floorboard, the ashtray the ones in the armrest-storage. There is still something holding these things down to the car. (I know clips clips clips, it's not that it feels like something else). Can someone please tell me how to get these 2 parts out of the car? I know it could be summed up in 2 sentances probably.

Thanks in advance,
James

The back armrest must come off first. After you remove the screws at the bottom, that part must be lifted UP evenly from the center console piece. Then you will see two other screws and a harness clip you need to remove to get the rest of the center console out

Yeah. Try to "pop" the armrest up from the console first; theyres 2 clips that sit down and into it, then lift off evenly upwards.

when you take the arm rest off pull the e-brake up half way and lift from the back to the front of the car. pull back at the same time, this will release the clips in front of the cup holder, directly under the meeting point of the cup holder and the shifter consle there are two screws, remove them then in the front of the shifter trim, near the gas peddle there are some snap clips, to remove this pull the kick plates tward the doors, stright out. once the clips are released you can get the shifter trim out with some finageling. good luck, it sounds harder than it is.

Hey thanks,

I was going to get some pieces sprayed AS like my exterior, but decided against it. I think it would look too glossy/out of place with my pitch flat black everything. GG is a good color for that though, not too "showey". Will look awesome!
