Clutch Install Question...

I am trying to remove the throwout bearing through the access hole and am having trouble figuring out if it is actually released or not. How do I know it's out?

Thanks a lot, got it figured out... then found a coolant leak at the base of the thermostat housing.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but......what was leaking here?

I have some coolant on the side of the block under the thermostat housing too. Compression test was good. I think I may be leaking in the same manner you were.

Please tell me what you did to rectify the problem.

Thanks.

Paul

Leak was an o-ring at base of thermostat housing. This o-ring doesn't exist on Evo VIII's though, but yes on IX's and VII's.
