EVO RS w low miles vs. GSR because it has power windows?
I don't want the RS because of its features I would want the RS because it has less miles...
I plan to keep this car for a while and I don't want to look at the ODO and see 60,000 after a year of driving it... then 73,000... AHHH!!!

yeah thats what im talking about i have had mine since may of 04 right off the boat and never looked backed. the locks and windows are of minor importance. the wiring is there for a stereo so all you have to do is pick on out and slap it in. I have 86k miles on the stock clutch and it has given me 0 problems. I love it. Also as far as being the rarest it is true, there were only 800 04' RS' and out of the 800 600 were red, so the Rarest of the Rare is an 04' WW RS wich is what I have. NO wing = less attention from cops. Get the RS because if you were to line up to a GSR with exactly the same mods and the driver has the same amount of skill you will always be faster just cause it is an RS.. peace out.
It is a Limited Slip Differential in the front which 03 and 04 GSR's did not have.
As far as braking I personally think ABS is for people that cant drive
. The RS brakes everybit as good if not better than the GSR's if you know how to modulate a brake pedal
I sold my SRT-4 because I wanted AWD or RWD. There are a lot of SRT-4 douche bags running about and that gives the car an aweful name. There are a lot of SRT-4s that are indeed faster than EVOs and vice versa. All I had for power mods in mine where an AGP Waste gate actuator ($160 bucks new) and a TBE and I made over 250whp and 300wtq... from a roll with those modifications I consistantly walked my friends 2003 EVO.
This isn't always the case though, but do not underestimate those cars...
I want an EVO because it does everything, and very well. I have usable power in any weather, I still have space... brakes, suspension... everything.
The SRT-4 was great to me but it was a stepping stone to bigger and better things I guess.
But on to the RS...
Are you SURE I wouldn't miss power windows and locks? Is it significantly louder inside with a TBE? what is the advantage of having a front LSD? and can't not having ABS be dangerous at the limits? I just don't want to get annoyed with how RAW the RS is put out to be...

I agree with what you are saying about the srt owners. Its an impressive car that just cant shake a stigma, and consequently most of the owners have a chip on their shoulder about it. just my thoughts on it of course. Good luck with your decision whatever it may be.

Honestly, hold off. If you can find these two cars, you can find two or three more. The RS is not a bad car, but if this is your only car, the basics are nice. Power windows are nice, ABS is really nice. How often did you take your srt to the track vs DD? If you're anything like me, it spends a lot more time doing day to day stuff than it ever does at the track. The mileage is the greatest selling point of it, and you'll find others. The one thing I learned when I bought my RA a few years ago. DONT MAKE CONCESSIONS. Buy the car you want or wait. If you are questioning your purchase as you are now... Then it may not be your gem. If it feels right, do it. Otherwise hang in there, something will come along. As you already mentioned evo's are getting more affordable. Between the two - go with the RS.

i dont see what the big deal with no abs is. i do just fine without it. and have even had to slam on the brakes in the rain and stopped alot faster than the guy in front of me.
edit**
you can find the factory speakers and radio used for under 50 bucks and power windows and locks arent too much more. and i dont miss them at all. lol i still havent even bought a radio yet and probably wont for a while.
