Hello, Evo newb inc!

Hello all, ive been lurking thru these forums the last few weeks, using it as a tool as i researched everything i could on the new evo x, and past evos. I'll start by saying that i knew a little about evos, as i knew a friend in NH that had a VIII, and he let me drive it a few times!

Believe it or not i live in maine, and the only down side i could think of when purchasing my new x was the weather, and crappy back roads that i my have to drive on. I was pleased to hear that with some snow tires (i wish i could use the blizzaks from my traded in 06 civic si)the car is pretty beastly. Ive been driving FWD cars since i got my license at 16, thats 10 years now. I'm pretty much a master in driving in snow with smaller, fwd cars even with all seasons. In fact i just bought my X two days ago, and a light snow is coming down now....time to test this beast out with stock summer tires

I'm absolutley in love with this car! The handling is something ive never seen before! I've visted my favorite back, twisting roads to drive on and its all thumb play around them going 3 times the rec speed. I love the point the wheel and go of this car. In fact ive been driving fwd cars so long that i've had to change the way i drive to compensate for fwd understeer.

The only complaint i have atm with the car is a little boggyness in 1st gear compared to my si's 6 speed box. I've gotten much better with it though, and can launch it np now. And yes, 3rd gear is a little stiff, but OMFG nothing compared to the SI's nightmare 3rd gear!!!! over all the gear box is like 2x better than what my si had.

Well im gonna go test it out in semi slick conditions (temp is like 36ish, light snow, some freezing rain). I'll prob wind up buying some snow tires soon, but i was hoping i could get outta it till next nov/dec. I dunno, maybe the car will yet again suprise the hell outta me.

Peace, and thanks to the community for offering such awsome info on these boards!!
