272's idle better, the 280s have a bad a$$ lumpy idle and of course will give you more power. For me it might be the difference between 440 and 450. Yes many recommend the 272's because they idle better and 280 are lumpy and some don't like that. Before my engine rebuild I had 264/272 combo and yes I had 20% cylinder leak down thats why my numbers were so low (still amazing for the problems I found I had) and noticed the problem was it looked like in the top RPM range it was choking out meaning it needed more air flow. So because of that the strait 272's might have worked but I figured I would go all out and go with the 280's to be sure. Especially when I'll be pushing 35psi spike down to 30psi boost. If I was not running Meth I would probably have just stayed with strait 272's.

Performance wise I'm running out of options. I have the Green w/all supporting mods, built engine and 100% Meth (1000cc spray). Next I'll be looking into HKS FCON and then I'll play with C16 + Meth and maybe 100shot for a secret weapon since you can have up to four maps stored.

No you dont need one but it is good to have if you have the extra $$. It tells you a lot. I dont think you need one until you get meth or have a very aggressive tune but again could always use it.

a MIL.SPEC 65mm tb will help with transient response & easily add 5-8whp throughout the rev range too.

not being sarcastic at all. guy shows up 2hours late to our appointment even though I had to drive 3 and a half hours to get there. does not appreciate the business at all, and rude because of my lack of knowledge on tuning and my age. And I am sorry that (I have nothing against the tuners, because they are living their lives doing what they enjoy), but I cannot afford wasting my time on learning nor studying about the materials. I simply like cars and driving fast, nothing more than that. One experience with a bad fat dirty-mouthed tuner puts a customer in a position where he cannot really put any trust out there on others.

I think I will stick to 272s because based on your explanation of their idling situations, I would definitely like the 272s better than 280s. Thanks for the explanation.

Ive got no extra cash kicking around after my several visit to "Foxwoods" if you know the place. lol. I'll have to make the evo sit on my garage for a while before I take it to Sean Ivey.

I am sorry you had a bad experience, Man.

I had a similar experience with a known tuner, and I know how that feels first hand.
Don't feel bad, and don't think age or experience had anything to do with the problem.
I got both, and still got the raw treatment, .

So don't let that get to you. I moved on, and now enjoy my car more than ever.
Find someone good, and have fun with your car, .

If you need a mod list, PM me and I will send it to you, or post it here.

Good luck, .

Sounds like someone I once used.... if we are talking the same tuner I used to get there for say 9am and he would come hopping along (like the easter bunny) around 12pm BS around until 1pm do a few pulls and be done around 2pm then i would have a 2 1/2hr drive back home.

yes you will be good with the 272's... search around youtube you'll find how the idle sounds, and if you still think it is to loopy maybe try a cam combo 272/264 or 264/272. If you are looking to make power stick to the 272's and let Sean work his magic. I'll tell you the Green will come alive with some Meth We love alcohol and so do our cars... unless you dont drink j/k.

I dont think it is necessary for the green until you look to push it more and more. Exhaust manifold maybe I have mine ported and jet coated from Buschur, I did it because I was sick of looking at that rusty eye sore and had it off during an engine build back a few years ago.

I think we are talking about the same person BRO!!!! lol. I just cant stand that ghetto talking of his.....

Actually I have seen a car with 272s with a tune in reality, it was totally different than the ones from youtube. If I can more power with 280s, same price I believe, I will definitely do with 280s!! lol OH, BTW, I am all about drinking. I think 80% of my energy for a day, whether I am in a class or not, is supported by alcohol. The legal drinking age is 18, so I started drinking way before that. A lot of freinds in the States helped me out on that part too. lol. For God's sake, my roommate is Irish. lol
