No, even when i push in the clutch it still whines away lol. So what is everyone's thoughts. We've excluded transfer case cause it does it while the car isn't moving right? So would it be my syncro's or tob bearing, or something else??

Why don't u take it to Mitsu under warranty? Your car is a 06 make so it's supposed to have warranty still ? If u got power mods on, get it back to stock and take it to Mitsu.

Yeah If you are still under warranty bring it to mitsu hell even bolting on the factory exhaust isnt that bad if you have an aftermarket one if it will save you 3g's. I always stress build a ralationship with your dealership! Mins takes pictures and gets the aftermarket stuff out of the picture when they send stuff for warranty. Good luck man -JOEYD

If it still happens with the clutch depressed. Its not drivetrain related because theres no longer a connection between the engine and the drivetrain. Its really hard to tell what it is without hearing the noise. Sounds like you just need to try to localize the noise a little more.

as stated, its nothing with drivetrain if nothing is moving when you hear the noise,,,it dosen't make sense...

you need to get the car in the air, or jackstands, turn it on, and have someone listen with u, o rmake a video

I would have someone listen to it with me..but there is no one knowledgable about cars around my area that i know of. And it only occasionally happens.. so i guess i can make a video next time, what all should i make the video on if im going to put in on here so you guys can help me figure it out? Just point the camera under the car to see where's the loudest or what?

your TC will still whine regardless if the clutch is depressed (or if the car is in neutral). It will always whine when in motion.

I had mine rebuilt and upgraded for $1600.

Please read the posts above...he said the car was not moving when the noise came on.

I would venture to guess this is one of your drive belts making this noise. Does the whining change pitch when you rev your engine?
