The word "ricer" refers to an individual who decorates his car with go-fast pretensions, while having nothing to back it up. I have no problem with you inventing your own definition, as long as you don't attempt to communicate with other humans. Once a mutual understanding comes into play, problems arise due to a lack of common comprehension. Words like "rice" and "ricer" are not complementary and you shouldn't be surprised by the reaction. While I believe that you meant no malice, the wording you chose to use gave a different impression.

You should try walking around phoenix dropping derogatory terms for Hispanics. Then when they get pissed be like "What?? Wet-back? That just means you came over the river.. it's not Derogatory"

Just because you don't take offense to a term, doesn't mean that a whole other group of people around you don't.
lol at everyone using the term ricer. Ill add my input as a multiple evo owner and an asian (not the oriental kind but the brownie kind). I dont think its derogatory, but to come on here and to start using it in some of your first posts is...well lets just say stupid.

BTW, i hate mustangs and most american muscle cars. They do nothing well except go straight. Certain corvettes, classic mustangs, and maybe a saleen here and there excluded of course. The pink in the mustang is just hideous, to me thats more "rice" that any evo.

Other than that, congrats on the GG Evo, its the FASTEST color out of all the Evo IX colors.

Wow... this has been one interesting/entertaining thread. Basically it's 2 people bickering..... lol not many welcomes hav been given. I have to agree with FJF, I don't think you meant it in a nasty way.... but you did come into the "Import World" and used a term that we generally use towards cars that are not tastefully done. I also use the term for not only how the car looks... but how the person driving it acts.... so in that sence I can see why some people would get upset. I wouldn't goto your V8 forum and use terms that some of them would find offensive even if I didn't mean it that way.... especially when I'm saying hi and introducing myself. Just my opinion.....

Anyways welcome to the boards... it's a great place to find information on pretty much anything you're looking for. Once you get pics of the Evo maybe you should start a NEW thread and post it in the Show & Shine.
