new evo owner

I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Brandon, and I am an avid car enthusiast. I have had several built nissans including a couple rb powered cars well over 400 hp. I love to learn the ins and outs of each auto I own. I could probably disassemble a s14 completely in half a day. Ive always been interested in Evos but havent had the means to own one... Id like to modify the evo but Im paranoid about losing my warranty. My local dealership quit selling Mitsubishi so I am going to have to travel 45 miles to check out the service department at the closest dealership. I joined the forum a few months back and stalked around for quite a while. I had a BMW M coupe at the time and was thinking about making the switch. I shopped the classifieds for a while and found a 2006 GG MR in Minnesota on here. The guy I bought it from was great and is a real credit to some of the people on this forum. It had just 14k miles on the clock when I picked it up. I drove it home and it has had zero problems. After 4 days of ownership I was on my lunch break and came our from Taco Bell and someone had hit the rear bumper and ran. Rather than turn it in on insurance Im just replacing it on my own. It sucks but what can you do. I installed a APR carbon fiber lip this week, and hope to have the rear bumper fixed soon. I will give it a good bath this evening and get some pictures up. Im hoping to get some wheels in the near future and maybe lower it if the stealership doesnt mind. Im looking forward to meeting the members and vendors of the board. Have a good day.

Brandon

Yea congrats, i justgot my eb evo ix in feb and its bone stock but I'm also worried about the warranty. I met up with a few evo owners in town that said our local mitsu still serviced them with basic bolt ons so that gave me a lil peace of mind. So far all I have is a boost gauge and i want a cone filter but idk cuz some ppl say it requires a tune and it messes with mpg. If it does, then I'll just wait til I get more stuff then get one tune.

Anyway, try to meet up with other evo owners cuz they might have the hook up with thier local stealership

Welcome here, sucks to have dishonest people out there that don't have the ***** to face the consequences of hitting another car. My stealership told me they would void part of my warranty if I lowered mine so I'm not so sure about doing it anymore. Maybe you wil have better luck with your dealership.

My only qualm with the jdm rear is how it tucks in. I think it makes the evo look kind of weird. Im on the fence post about it. Im trying to get a good deal on a usdm GG bumper if I can.

Welcome aboard Brandon. Probably the best advice I can give is whatever questions you may have about your vehicle will be answered if you post it. I had a minor issue with my car and (mostly) everyone who responded gave me some good info. Good luck out there. I'll be on the lookout for any suspicious lookin hit and run punks at all Taco Bell locations I drive thru
