MR temp gauge doesn't work.

I've had my evo for a few weeks now and since I bought it the temp gauge hasn't worked.

One of the first things I did was change the oil and while doing so I noticed there was a bolt with a brass fitting and it appeared to have wires that were cut off.

With a little bit of searching I found out that this bolt was in fact the oil temp sensor for my gauge.

So my question is, is there any way I can fix it to work again or do I need a new sensor?

I would tape up the wires together first see f the gauge works,if it does soldeir them together then wrap up with black tape.

I dont think there is enough wire left to do that. The exposed wires left are just wire with no insulation on them.

All you can see is a few individual strands of copper wire about 1/2 in. long.
