Evo X GSR daily driver

i have seen some stuff about daily driver being not too bad.
I am getting the GSR and wanted to have a daily for the streets and a little track on the weekend

Just wanted to get the pros and cons of the car as a daily driver.

I didnt see a very good thread for this topic so i started my own.

i'm sure if you search you'll find a plethora of threads posing exact questions as yours. however, i can say that the x is definitely a better dd than previous models, except maybe gas mileage =/

Gas mileage sucks, lack of 6th gear sucks, that's about it.

^ As above, but one thing to note:

It makes the commute worth it.

ive found it pretty nice as my daily so far. Mileage with daily driving seems to be about 19-22 mpg, highway mileage seem to be kinda blah if over 70-75 mph. I can manage 24ish mpg with 70-75mph driving

Gas mileage isn't terrible, but it's nothing great. Premium gas does make it a little more unfortunate to fill up at the pump. Synthetic oil can get expensive fast. I use mine as a daily driver and I think it's worth it.

I don't think its an amazing drag car yet. Not many companies have parts for the evo x and most tuners are still trying to figure out how to unleash the pure power of the X.

i don't understand why you would reserve it for a weekend car anyway unless it were a seriously modded track car.

why would you want to drive a beat down toyota corolla to work everyday instead of your X. it rules to drive and you get attention. my commute otherwise would really really suck.

i love it for daily driver. plus you get used to driving it and are more familiar with it's dimensions because it is your everyday car.

I agree. Gas milage isn't great but it is just too much fun to drive.

I wish I lived farther from work.

Car is great to drive to work every day! It's costs me about $50 a week in gas.

i live 34 miles each way. and today's commute was worth considering there wasn't too much traffic or too many in the left lane.

Well, as soon as I finalize the sale of my 911, a GSR will be my new daily driver.

YMMV.

20-22mpg/average is not bad at all for this kind of car

The only problem is that 80 comes fast. 110 is soon after. Car rides smooth too at those speeds.

First time driving the X in 9 days and lets say that looking down and seeing triple digits was a big "Oh ****" moment.

What planet are you on? The car has been out for a little over what, 4-5 months?
Just rolled 11k on mine, and its been a blast. MPG is like everyone else (19-22ish), great ride. There are the flaws that come with a 4cyl turbo tho, if you're coming form a 911-there is more road noise, tranny/drivetrain noise that you dont have in a Porsche...and the seats cant compare.
Def drive one on some city streets, and the highway b4 you write a check....thats a change from one car to the other.....
