Just wanted to introduce myself and have always respected and liked the EVO. I'm a 5yr Vet over at SRTForums and not a hater, ish talker or BOV saluter everytime I see an EVO and think I'm cool

I'm currently looking into adding a EVO X to my garage, but stuck on if I want the MR w/SST or GSR w/5spd?!?!? I read a bunch of threads and see good and bad on both ends. I got an app. this coming weekend for a test drive.

I'll see about the Cypress meet. Its been along time since I've been to one, got tired of all the Estupid idiots burning out, flying down the parking lots, smoking weed and drinking ya know.

 

Depends, the MR has more options and is slower in the quarter and faster around a track. Is it worth the extra money? Will the SST hold up to mods? I don't know. All depends on what you want, they're both great rides.

Do you want to drive an automated manual or a true manual? Do you plan on modding? For me i need the feel of the 5 speed, and you can tell by my sig that i am modding the car. I dont no if the MR could hold as much power as my car will have in 2 weeks.

I like power aswell. I've been very spoiled by my lil Neon when it comes to easy modability and raw FWD burning power lol. I want power, traction and handling. I think I'[m leaning towards the GSR 5 spd.

 

Nice man! This week my buddy that have a '04 black SRT-4 almost came over to the Evo side and was going to sell his to get a IX. But some how he re-evaluated his decision and is going to keep his SRT-4 until it is paid off and just pay on insurance. His SRT-4 is in the shop due to a main bearing broke within his engine.

 

Damn that sucks for your buddy! Cars break, what can u do..

I'm also keeping my Neon, it has 120K+ and still running strong. It'll be my dailly driver and the X will be my Weekend Monster

 

Ha ya i love to go fast. This is why I also have a crouch rocket as well ( 2006 zx-10r). But i havnt got on the bike in a week tho, just had a buddy crash his bike and passed away (R.I.P. ANT).

But as soon as my car is done ill be doing a full report on it. I cant wait it should be a beast. Just want to make sure that i dont over do it. GSR FTW for me.

 

The X MR is too complicated in my opinion. It has too many options and it's just too complex. I would get the 5 speed X GSR in base form....Pure & Simple. And get Wicked White. Good luck!
