It depends on what you're going to do with the car. I've had the ACT for 75k miles and it is still going strong. I road race though, and some drag racers have experienced the "lock out" that so many have read about. I have never experienced this problem.

I just got the ACT Street clutch/Streetlite flywheel installed 2 days ago and it rocks! No regrets so far from my behalf.

So what causes this "lock-out"?

I know from high rpms, but is it from poor installing job as nawaz said?

Hey. So after the strong urging of my installer (who was a mechanic at a mitsubishi dealor - hopefully that's a good thing) I was talked into the Exedy twin disc. I bought it and it's going in tomorrow. BUT... I have read a few things that have me worried now because I heard that the clutch is strong, but hard launches could now potentially find weaker points in the drive train and ruin them... like the differential for example. Has anyone heard of this? Will the Exedy twin be overkill for my setup? Also, since I've got the six speed, is this clutch TOO solid?

Just put in the Exedy twin plate. Feels awesome. Near-stock pedal feel. Great grab. Very little clatter. The engagement is smooth, quick, and clean. I love it. Thanks for all the advice.

For under 500 whp I say get the Clutchmasters Stage 3, Longest lasting, cheaper than ACT, Better customer service, much much lighter pedal.

I have had 2 ACT clutches, exedy twin, Clutchmasters stg 4 and stg 3! Now I have Clutchmasters stg 6. Good Luck OP
