Hello all fellow EVO owners! I got my Evo about a year ago, its a 04 gsr ssl in white. Well anyways, I need to change my clutch out, and was wondering if anyone knows a good shop around my area? I live in southern Cali near LA.

Or do you guys think ill be able to change it myself? My last car was a 90 Rx7 turbo, and i changed that clutch with no problem.. Do you guys think ill be fine changing a clutch on my Evo?

 

If you're very familiar with the transmission and the clutch of the Evo, then you probably can do the install successfully. The Evo is a little different than the RX7, but they have their similarities. bottom line is that if you don't feel confident all the way, then I would take it to a professional transmission shop. I don't live in California so I won't be able to give you advice on which shop to go to. The clutch install is a 8-10 hour job and I've heard that it's a very challenging task and you may need help even if you are familiar. All the best!
