Good or bad deal with Evo VIII?

So I'm a new member to the site and hopefully i can get some tips or help with this new purchase. I'm looking for a used Evo VIII or IX with low miles for a good price, I'm selling my 350z, cant drive it in the winter and the summer i have my streetbike so it's pointless to own. But i was looking around and found a 2005 White EVO GSR 38,000 miles with minor scratches and such for 20,000$. I Figured i'd ask people on here before i purchased it if that was a decent deal or not, I've heard the Evo IXs are much better with a bigger turbo and newer parts, but i wasn't too sure, any advice would be great. I'm located in RI(Northeast)

The IX's are probably a little better out of the gate for the turbo. But half the forum changes them out in a couple years anyways. Same with the Mivec cam's better out of the gate but VIII modders will change out to 272 cams anyways.

20K sounds like a fair price for an 05 with that many miles on it. Alot of IX's are going for 26-28 but with less mileage.

Kind of like no matter where you start that little voice is going to win anyways

The best thing you can do is make sure you find one that hasnt been abused and still has the warranty. Your seller is probably on this forum...

Good Luck!

the look of the car doesnt really matter, but the maintenance work is whats important. make sure the owner did not beat on the car or anything, plus driving an evo is nothing like driving a z. so watch out! lol
