Hi from Portland, OR
Hi from Portland, OR
Hello all,
I'm Robb, and I live in Portland, Oregon.
I recently bought a 02 Lancer 0Z after many years of driving nothing but Jeeps, spending as much time offroad as on, going up the mountain and back. Sadly, my old Cherokee finally gave up the ghost after almost 300k miles and more road trips than I can remember. But a private dealer friend of mine got me a truly fantastic deal on my little OZ, and I've loved every minute of our time together.
I'm pretty new to all of this, and have no experience with modding or anything of that sort, but I'm looking forward to reading up on everything and seeing what other people have done with their cars.
I hope to be moving up to an EVO in the next year or two.

You came to the right place rob, welcome.
I live in McMinnville, and gotta say, since my gf and bought an 02 Lancer OZ Rally 16 months ago, I have learned so much.
I learned a lot on her car, learned about how mitsubishi works (like builds transmissions around transmission fluid instead of visa versa), how the community is, how rare the cars are... it's been a blast.
I loved her / our car (yah I paid for 1/4 of it) so much, that I decided to buy a 2004 Ralliart. That Ralliart was definitely one of my favorite cars of all time. Very fun to drive and a great car to work on. Highly recommend this car if you like N/A cars. Of course the 2009 will be AWD Turbod.
I was offered a pretty amazing deal to upgrade to an Evo. Wow, what a different world. I bought one pretty heavily modded (not what i intended but the deal was too great to pass up). Because it was heavily modded I wanted to return it back to stock as quickly as possible. So I've been ripping out after marketing wires and electronic components, all sorts of fun stuff. Unfortunately I bought the car, and a week later found out the transmission and t.case had to be rebuilt (thank you Lucas).
Anyways, you live closely, my gf and I are big mitsu fans and would love to meet up sometime, hope you enjoy the car as much as we have. BTW (Road Race Motorsports has some cool things for your car).
Also, post in the northwest section as well.

Yeah, I'm hoping to get as close to stock as possible when I finally upgrade. Maybe I'll take the 09 Ralliart for a test drive, see how that suits me. The Lancers already seem to have incredible handling for their class, and throwing in a bit more performance and AWD would definitely be something I could see myself getting into.
An Evo would really be more car than I need, but hell, there's nothing wrong with having a little fun and treating yourself to a nice toy from time to time, and I'd be psyched to try my hand at modding. Especially with such a great mod commmunity here, with tons of how-tos and friendly advice.
And oh yeah, love Portland. I don't think I'll ever move. Been all over the US, and it always feels good to come home again.
